The British Embassy Tbilisi works with Georgia in a number of different areas. Our work is defined seven key objectives:  

Service based objectives:

• to support the work of all other UK government departments in Georgia.
• to meet UK Government obligations to British Nationals living or visiting Georgia (Consular Services)
• to manage migration and combat illegal migration (includes Visa Services)

Policy based objectives:

• to reduce the risk to the UK and its interests from international terrorism, and co-operate with Georgia on counter-terrorism and non-proliferation issues.
• to support progress in the prevention and resolution of conflicts.
• to promote respect for good governance and human rights.
• to manage the geopolitical risks to the UK’s and EU’s energy security in support of open and competitive energy markets.  

We utilise a number of tools to deliver our objectives. This includes official contact with the Georgian government, civil society, the media, and other international organisations. We also have a number of active projects, offer scholarships, and support visits to both the UK and Georgia.
