Work Underway on new British Embassy (08/10/2009)
On 7 October a topping-out ceremony took place at the new Embassy site in Krtsanisi. HM Ambassador Denis Keefe and Deputy Foreign Minister Davit Jalagania celebrated by helping installation of the first roof portion to the new Embassy building.
HM Ambassador said
“I was delighted that the Deputy Foreign Minister Mr.Davit Jalagania was able to share this special moment. We are looking forward to moving into our new purpose built home, which will provide better facilities for visitors and staff. The construction of this new Embassy underlines the United Kingdom’s long term commitment to Georgia. The building has been specifically designed for Georgia drawing on influence from both Britain and Georgia. I am personally looking forward to exploring the British and Georgian gardens.”
